'Banking' accrued RDO

Employers and employees can agree to 'bank' an accrued rostered day off that would otherwise have to be taken. As always, there are some rules:

The employee must not have more than 5 accrued RDOs at any given time.
Accrued RDOs must be taken at a mutually agreed time.
Excess hours can be cashed out subject to employment agreements.

How RDO cash-outs are managed

RDO hours are typically considered a non-cash benefit. Essentially, employees contribute additional hours at work per day to accrue flex time (resulting in an RDO). If an RDO is cashed out, the employer must withhold the amount they would typically withhold if the benefit (in this case the RDO ) was paid in money.

If a client decides to pay cashed-out annual leave, they must configure a pay element to do this. The same goes for cashed-out RDOs: a specific pay element must be configured for this purpose and for this purpose alone.

Configure the RDO cash out pay element in the same way as the RDO-taken pay element, with the following differences:

Do not add the pay element to Leave History Setup in Affinity.
Do not add the pay element to the AUTOREDORD code group.
