What you need to do

You need to make it so the employee becomes entitled to their annual leave later each year from now on. This is achieved by moving their annual leave start date out by the number of whole or part weeks of unpaid leave taken.

An employee's annual leave start date is used by the system to determine when they will receive their first entitlement, so by moving it out, their first anniversary will also be moved out.

How to do it

In Affinity, open the employee's leave history masterfile (Current tab).
Subtract the date the employee starts their LWOP from their date of return.
Deduct 7 days (so that the first week is excluded).
Add that result to the employee's annual leave start date (the value in the Annual Leave field under the Start Date column in the leave history masterfile). This becomes the employee's new annual leave start date.
Change the value in the Annual Leave field under the Start Date column to the one you calculated and save the masterfile.
When asked for a reason, enter the date you made the change and the reason why you made it, then save.
