Applying for leave

If leave-in-days config is enabled, when employees apply for leave (or managers apply on behalf of employees), three columns appear in the Apply for Leave section in SSL: Days, Hours, Scheduled.

Employees can only enter units in the Hours column. The Days and Scheduled columns cannot be edited either by employees, or managers applying for leave on behalf of employees.

If a work schedule exists for the days being applied for, the Scheduled hours value will default to the scheduled hours. If no work schedule exists, standard hours per day recorded in the employee masterfile will be used instead.

If a leave type is in days, employees can still apply for leave hours that exceed their scheduled hours, however their manager will need to adjust the scheduled hours before approving the leave.

For leave types in hours, whether or not employees can apply for leave hours that exceed their scheduled hours depends on their worker type and how the leave type is configured in SSL.
